Deeper study - Open Floor weekends at Poplar Union 2019
We are made for these times Dear Dancers and wether we are impacted by the daily shocks in the news, or the ups and downs in our personal lives it seems important to have some tools to get alongside ourselves in rapidly changing times.
During these weekends a myth or story will be our backdrop and we will focus on making space so that we can tolerate our movement, feelings, our responses.
The good news ? This also connects us to our juice, our aliveness and our passion.
We will practice recognising feelings as simply physical energy that moves in and through our bodies
We will enquire
We will dance with instruction
We will have space to dance without instruction
We will dance to both contemporary and classical music
We will probably use sitting meditation practice
At least 3 classes of an Embodied Movement Practice required.
Each weekend is part of a series of explorations in conscious movement and meditation via Open Floor practice. Myself and my team feel passionate about providing nourishing weekends to restore, rest back in to practice and remember why we love to move. You are welcome to attend one or all weekends.
