Shy Creatures - A day of RAIN & Movement Practice - 4th June 2023
Shy Creatures - A day of RAIN & Movement Practice
RAIN is an enquiry practiced alone & in pairs where we ask -
What’s asking for inclusion or acceptance?
Where do we sense we really want to know what’s true and are willing to be changed by it?
With practice RAIN can bring a greater sense of freedom and trust in what our feelings and sensations are trying to communicate to us - however they show up - anger, sadness, aversions, longings, numbness, pain .........
These "shy creatures" really want to come out of the woods of our being but will only do so if we approach them with sincerity.

We will enquire , dance (a lot), and sit in silent meditation practice.
Pre-requisites -
1. A movement practice where you have dived deep enough to differentiate between story and sensation *
*What’s this?
When we are over identified with the content of the stories we tell ourselves we can have difficulty accurately responding to events. We tend to react and run old patterns without questioning.
For example - Someone has an argument with a colleague. Rather than running, re-running and re-hashing this story whilst in a class, a curious mover might turn this argument in to art - to make a U-turn and wonder how the story is experienced as sensation and where the feelings live in the body and invite them in to movement.
If they don’t feel safe enough in the body to do this , they will resource themselves and attend to the story in time.
Question “I don’t think I can differentiate between story and sensation - can I still come?”
Answer “ Attend a few workshops / classes before you book where you can play with story and sensation. There is plenty of time till June!
For example, you might really honour how exhausted you are when you arrive at weekly class, and instead of pushing or waiting for the beat to come in, you turn your exhaustion in to art and move in an exhausted way, open to any movement that shows up.
Or book in for a few zoom 1-1 sessions with me and we can focus on this aspect of movement practice.
2. A silent meditation practice (about 20 minutes).
Question “I don’t have a meditation practice, can I still come?”
